As a complement to the new production studios built last
year, Turner Entertainment Group (TEG) added two additional buildings to
their main campus along Atlanta’s I-75/I-85 downtown connector. All
network operations were moved from the old Turner Mansion to the new
facility. Temtrol air handling
units
were selected to condition the space.
As with the production studios, sound levels were a concern. TBCo worked
closely with the mechanical engineer, varying fan wheel sizes and
discharge openings, and incorporating external silencers, to meet the
sound requirements for the space. TBCo engineers collaborated with
McKenney’s, the mechanical contractor, in selecting all custom equipment.
The CES Testing Lab was utilized to verify performance. Representatives of
the owner and engineer witnessed tests that documented leakage, airflow
and sound levels. The final design included twelve Temtrol Welded Frame
units of three different designs, delivering a total of 515,000 cfm. |
