Indoor Air Quality and Occupant Safety

Curbing the Spread of Viruses

Since Covid first emerged, we've been talking a lot about ways to improve indoor air quality (IAQ) through strategies including filtration, disinfection, and ventilation. New standards and recommendations, including the recently published ASHRAE Standard 241, have been developed to address indoor air quality and the control of infectious aerosols.

TBCo is positioned to help building owners, contractors, facility managers, and other professionals address IAQ to create safer indoor air for building occupants.

How Does an Overhead HVLS Fan Affect Airflow?

Using a ceiling mounted Big Ass fan provides bi-directional airflow and elevated air speed as a powerful way to keep workers and guests comfortable in a space. Immediately underneath a Big Ass fan, airflow is pushed downward.

Outside its diameter, the airflow transitions to horizontal air movement, providing comfortable airflow over a large area as per ASHRAE Standard 55’s thermal comfort calculations.
