Mike Shea

President

Mike Shea started with Tom Barrow Company in 1997 in the Atlanta office. Mike has a long background in the HVAC industry. Prior to Tom Barrow Company, he worked for Carrier Corporation in Chicago and Minneapolis and for Venmar Ventilation in Minneapolis.

Brent Smith

Executive VP and COO

Brent Smith joined Tom Barrow Company in 1997 where he started in the quote department. After a short time as a sales assistant, he moved to outside sales in the Atlanta branch. He left TBCo to join one of our great customers where he gained invaluable experience as a project manager and salesman with a mechanical contractor. In less than two years, he rejoined the Atlanta TBCo Team in an outside sales engineering role where he remained until late 2005 when he was promoted to the position of Tampa branch manager and relocated to Florida. He later was promoted to executive VP and COO. Brent holds a BSME from Virginia Tech, is a member of ASHRAE, ASHE, FHEA and serves on several non-profit Boards.

Lance Brown

Chief Financial Officer

Lance Brown has over 20 years of financial experience across a wide range of industries. He earned a BBA in Accounting from the University of Georgia and a Masters of Accountancy from The University of Auburn. Lance also has his CPA designation.

Angela Hartley

CHRO

Angela Hartley joined Tom Barrow Company in 2019 as the Chief Human Resources Officer. As a Human Resources professional, she has over 17 years of progressive experience. She received her bachelor’s degrees in Marketing and Business Management, with an emphasis on Human Resources, from the University of Georgia and a master’s degree in Human Resource Management from Georgia State University. She also has over eight years of experience instructing Human Resources courses as an Adjunct Professor at Georgia State University.

David Braun

VP of Finance and Treasury

David Braun joined the Tom Barrow team in 1998. He has a strong financial background in the construction industry. David has a BBA focused in Accounting and Finance from Columbus State University, and has earned the designation of Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner.

David Nichols

Operations Director

David Nichols joined Tom Barrow Company in 2003 as IT director, and he was promoted to CIO and VP in 2010. In 2016, David's role expanded to include operations and he took on the additional title of COO. In early 2023, as Tom Barrow continued to grow and operations became a critical aspect of the overall business, David was asked to apply his total focus and expertise to operations - providing customers with the best service and inventory availability. He graduated from Auburn University in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Operations Management, and in 1990 from Georgia State University with a master’s degree in Computer Information Systems. David has worked in the manufacturing industry, the telecom industry, and spent several years in software development across various industries.

Bob Toupin

Vice-President of IT

Bob Toupin is a seasoned IT Executive and non-profit Board Director with a robust track record in delivering technology solutions and driving digital transformation. He excels in quickly assessing and implementing strategies, leveraging his diverse expertise in Finance, Lean Six Sigma, IT, Supply Chain, and Business Operations to tackle complex business challenges and enhance competitive advantage.

Prior to joining Tom Barrow Company, Bob served as the Senior VP of IT and Distribution Center Technologies at Tompkins Solutions, where he oversaw advanced warehouse technologies. Previously, as CIO at Jackson Healthcare, he led the successful implementation of a WorkDay ERP system, streamlining back-office processes and enhancing IT security. At BlueLinx Corporation, Bob drove six years of record EBITDA growth and led key acquisitions. His earlier roles include IT leadership positions at Paperworks Industries and WestRock Company, where he was integral to major acquisitions. Bob currently serves on the boards of Atlanta Technology Professionals and Tech Alpharetta, contributing his extensive knowledge to the non-profit sector.

Kevin Ruegger

VP / Branch Manager, Atlanta

Kevin Ruegger joined TBCo in 2019 as a Vice President of the company. In October 2019, Kevin transitioned into the role of VP/Atlanta Branch Manager. Kevin has an Electrical Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and over 20 years of experience in the HVAC industry. Previous to TBCo, Kevin worked with York, Johnson Controls, and most recently as the General Manager for Daikin over Georgia and Alabama.

Jackie Laird

VP / Branch Manager, Birmingham

Jackie Laird graduated from Auburn University in May of 2001 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduating, he worked for Environmental Products as an Outside Sales Engineer where he learned much about the HVAC industry. He worked for Environmental Products until March 2016 when Tom Barrow Company acquired the company. He has been managing Tom Barrow Company's Birmingham Branch since May of 2016.

Woody Wilson

VP / Branch Manager, Ft. Myers

Woody Wilson, Fort Myers Branch Manager and Vice President, has been with Tom Barrow Company since 2007, and has many years of experience in the HVAC industry. Prior to Tom Barrow Company, his experience included selling commercial HVAC products in the Saint Louis market and selling spiral duct products in the Orlando market. Woody has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Notre Dame.

Keith Billings

VP / Branch Manager, Jacksonville

Keith Billings knows the HVAC business inside and out. He began his journey at Tom Barrow Company in 1983 working in the warehouse in Jacksonville. He subsequently moved into the Quotation Department, then worked as a Sales Assistant before moving into an Outside Sales position where he earned top sales awards year after year. Keith became a vice president and assumed responsibilities as Branch Manager in Jacksonville in 2000.

Jeremy Harris

VP / Branch Manager, Memphis

Jeremy Harris has been with Tom Barrow Company since 1995. He is a graduate of Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN where he earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1995. Jeremy began his career as a sales engineer and quickly found the industry to be a place where he could thrive by blending a technical skill set with direct customer interactions. He became the branch manager of the Memphis office in 1999, and then Vice President in 2005. Jeremy joined the ownership group of TBCO in 2015. Jeremy is a member of ASHRAE & ASHE, and he currently serves on the Industry Advisory Board for the Mechanical Engineering Department at Christian Brothers University.

Alan Green

VP / Branch Manager, Nashville

After successful ventures in other markets, Alan Green began his career with Tom Barrow Company in 1999. He started as a part-time estimator and part-time warehouse employee in the Ft. Myers office. He moved to become an inside sales assistant, outside salesman, and then moved to VP/branch manager in Pensacola. In 2023, Alan became branch VP/branch manager in Nashville. Building a strong team is one of Alan’s main goals. This includes employees, customers and factories working together to provide the industry with the best possible customer service and products.

Ron Proden

VP / Branch Manager, Orlando

Ron Proden joined Tom Barrow Company in March 2017 as part of the acquisition of Dynatherm Resources, Inc. Ron brings experience as a previous managing partner of another large manufactures representative in Central Florida. As a respected member of the central Florida design community, Ron has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Central Florida (UCF). Ron also worked in Engineering Sales for over 17 years with a major equipment manufacturer in Orlando, and prior to that, he worked in the aerospace field.

Will Winslett

VP/Branch Manager, Pensacola

Will Winslett joined the company in 2021 as an outside sales engineer in the TBCo Pensacola branch. Previous to TBCo, Winslett spent twelve years as an engineer with the University of Alabama Birmingham. He earned both a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and a Master of Engineering from the University of Alabama Birmingham.

Kevin Custer

VP / Branch Manager, Savannah

Kevin Custer started his career at Tom Barrow Company as a co-op in 1998 while completing a Mechanical Engineering degree from Southern Tech (currently KSU). Prior to that, he served in the US Marine Corp for four years as an Avionics Technician. Upon graduation, Kevin became an Inside Sales Assistant and moved into Outside Sales in 2000, where he quickly became one of TBCo’s top performers. When the branch manager’s position in Savannah became available in 2008, Kevin was a natural choice.

John Simitses

VP / Branch Manager, Southeast Florida

John Simitses joined TBCo in 2022 as part of the acquisition of CMH Solutions, Inc., one of South Florida’s premier HVAC manufacturer’s representative firms. John was a principal at the company from 2005 until the acquisition. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a master’s degree in Engineering Sciences and Mechanics, both from Georgia Tech.

Cyril John

VP / Branch Manager, Tampa

Cyril John joined Tom Barrow Company in 2016 as a sales engineer in the Tampa branch. In 2023, he became the Tampa branch manager/vice-president. Cyril earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Florida State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Florida.
