The use of Ultraviolet C (UVC) inside HVAC air handling units is effective for surface disinfection on coils and drain pans to eliminate microbial growth, and it is also an effective air disinfection strategy when used inside of air handling units or ductwork.
There are several design steps to follow for accurate UVGI Rating Values (URV) calculation for achieving maximum disinfection effectiveness, specific to the disinfection goals and system specifications.
