Limbitless Solutions is a non-profit direct-support organization (DSO) based at the University of Central Florida that specializes in creating and donating personalized 3D-printed prosthetic limbs. When renovating their design and manufacturing facility, Limbitless engineers were put in touch with Tom Barrow Company Orlando through a mutual connection in ASHRAE, the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers.
The Tom Barrow Orlando team was excited to jump in and offer their expertise, from specifying equipment to maximize safety and efficiency, to providing installation expertise and helping commission the job for optimal performance.
A particular concern for Limbitless Solutions was making sure the manufacturing process, and specifically the use of the automotive paint equipment necessary for their production process, was safely housed and ventilated. Tom Barrow Company Sales Engineer, Stan Tarquinio, and the Orlando team determined that a 100% OA DOAS Rooftop Unit, Gree VRF Mini Heat Pump, and Loren Cook Exhaust Fan with associated Yaskawa VFD were required for this project and decided to provide the products at a discounted cost as part of a donation to the Limbitless cause.
According to Limbitless Solutions, the equipment and expertise the Tom Barrow Company team provided has been a key part of the manufacturing center, contributing to much improved air quality, and well controlled humidity levels within the spaces. In addition, the Tom Barrow team has been an asset in helping support the construction team to commission the project.

She also offered an additional note of appreciation for Stan, “who has spent countless time on site and on the rooftop working to tune the complex system for optimal performance.”
